Meeting Notes
We had one more wrap-up Reunion meeting planned for Wednesday
evening, July 23rd, at the American Legion. The classmates that have attended most of the
meetings and have planned our reunion are Bob Peter, Linda (Kasselman)
Borror, Marla (Slough) Isern, Allene (Cope) Owen, Connie (Hazen) Roth, Dan
Soeken, and John Meyer.
If you have any other ideas, suggestions, or comments about our reunion, just email
one of us, post your idea on the Message
Board, or better yet, bring
them to the Reunion committee meeting. Everyone is invited to
attend. See you then! |
As most of you know, the reunion will begin at
the American Legion, on Friday evening, July 18, 2008. The details of our
40th reunion are coming together. Of course, we will have a float in the
After Harvest Festival parade on Saturday morning and then have an
organized get-together on Saturday evening. We have heard from several
classmates who are planning to be here, including some who have not been
able to attend before.
Our 40th Reunion
theme will be a variation of the Hippies theme called "Ellinwoodstock
68". This theme will be based loosely on the Woodstock Summer Music
Festival that took place at Woodstock, NY in 1969. So we are planning on
having everyone dress up as hippies (that will make this reunion a casual
affair, so pack away those suits and tuxedos!). This will be a fun night,
a night to let your hair down, for those of you with enough hair to let
down!

Haddon from the Legion will be catering our dinner. Our plan is to have a
social gathering beginning at 6:00 PM with dinner at approximately 7:00.
It will be buffet style with a choice of the main entree being either
chicken-fried steak or chicken breast. Please state your preference when
you register.
The details of
the float are still being worked out, but we think it will be a lot of
fun. We will probably be decorating the float by at least Thursday
evening. We will advise all the area classmates when it will be so
everyone can join in on the fun.
There will be
another get-together at Bob and Julie Peter's house (110 North Wilhelm St)
on Saturday afternoon beginning at 4:00 PM for as long as everyone wants
to hang around. Please bring some type of finger foods. There will be
hamburgers and hot dogs with buns provided. If you are drinking any
alcohol, please BYOB. There will be some iced tea and some soft drinks
provided.
All classmates
will receive a special tie-dyed T-shirt as part of the registration.
Please state you size preference when you register. If your spouse or
guest would also like a T-shirt, please give us that size preference also.
There will be an additional $15 charge for the guest T-shirt.
